In-Duct Whole-House Purification

REME HALO LED Ormond Beach

Coil-mounted UV treats the coil. The REME HALO LED sits in the supply duct and treats the moving air stream itself, distributing purification through the air that reaches every room the system serves.

The Straight Answer

Where It Sits Is The Point

Most HVAC purification is coil-mounted — effective on the coil surface, limited beyond it. The REME HALO LED installs in the supply plenum instead, treating the air stream as it moves, so purification is carried out through the ductwork to the occupied rooms rather than staying at the equipment.

It uses LED-based ionization with RGF's PHI and REME technologies, and the specification matters for a device running in your ducts: a long-life replaceable LED cell, automatic self-cleaning ionizers, and a washable hybrid catalyst built for high-load environments. It is mercury-free and zero ozone compliant — worth checking on any purification product, since not every ionizing device on the market can say the same.

What Prompts The Call

Problems It Addresses

01Persistent Odours

Smells that linger indoors rather than clearing — cooking, pets, and general staleness moving between rooms through the ducts.

02Stale, Heavy Air

Air that feels heavy and unrefreshed, common in tightly sealed Florida construction with little natural air exchange.

03Irritants Through Vents

Airborne irritants circulating from the vents rather than entering from outside.

04Recirculating Particulate

Dust that keeps coming back because the same air is being moved around the property repeatedly.

05Indoor Allergy Triggers

Symptoms that appear or worsen indoors and settle outdoors — pointing at the indoor air rather than the pollen count.

06VOC Buildup

Volatile compounds accumulating in energy-efficient homes, where the airtightness that saves energy also traps what is released indoors.

How It Differs

Against The Alternatives

Versus Filtration & Coil UV

Each approach does something the others do not:

  • Filtration is passive — it captures particles that pass through the media
  • Coil UV treats the evaporator surface where growth forms
  • REME HALO LED treats the moving air stream and distributes through the supply

They are complements rather than competitors. See air filtration and coil purification for the other two.

Why Florida Suits It

Conditions here play to an in-duct system's strengths:

  • High humidity year-round
  • Near-continuous HVAC operation
  • Sealed construction trapping contaminants
  • Coastal environmental exposure
  • VOC buildup in energy-efficient homes
  • Storm-related moisture events

The system treats air whenever the HVAC runs — and in Florida that is most of the time, so runtime works in your favour rather than against you.

The Total Comfort Way

How We Install It

01Supply Plenum Mount

Mounted in-duct within the supply plenum, where it can treat the air the system is about to distribute.

02Airflow-Path Position

Positioned in the airflow path so treatment distributes evenly rather than pooling at one point.

03Electrical Integration

Wiring and power integrated safely, cycling with the HVAC equipment.

04Compatibility Check

HVAC compatibility verified before fitting rather than assumed.

05Airflow & Static Pressure

Evaluated so the installation does not disturb the airflow balance the system depends on.

06Commissioning

System commissioned and operationally tested before handover.

07Cell Lifespan Guidance

LED cell lifespan explained and monitored, so replacement is planned rather than forgotten.

08Warranty Registered

Extended warranty coverage properly documented at installation.

Sensible Expectations

Air purification is a category where claims can get ahead of evidence. What we will tell you is what the system is designed to do, how it is installed, and what it costs to keep running — then let you decide:

REME HALO Questions

REME HALO LED Questions

How is this different from a UV coil light?+

Position and reach. A coil light is aimed at the evaporator surface and works on that surface. The REME HALO LED mounts in the supply plenum and treats the air stream moving past it, so purification travels out through the ductwork to the rooms. If your concern is growth on the coil, a coil light addresses it directly. If it is the air throughout the property, in-duct is the better fit — and plenty of homes have reason for both.

Does it produce ozone?+

The REME HALO LED is zero ozone compliant and mercury-free. This is worth asking about with any ionizing air purification product, because ozone generation has been a genuine concern with some devices sold in this category. If a contractor cannot answer that question about a product they are proposing, treat it as a reason to pause.

What maintenance does it need?+

Less than older designs. The ionizers are self-cleaning and the hybrid catalyst is washable, which removes most of the routine attention earlier systems demanded. The LED cell has a long service life but is replaceable, and that replacement is the ongoing cost to plan for. We will tell you the expected interval and check it during maintenance visits rather than leaving you to discover it.

Will it affect my system's airflow?+

It should not, and we verify rather than assume. Airflow and static pressure are evaluated as part of the installation, because anything added to the duct system has the potential to alter the balance the equipment depends on. Correct positioning in the airflow path also matters for the purification working as intended, so the two checks serve the same end.

Does it run all the time?+

It operates while the HVAC system runs, since it needs air moving past it to treat that air. In Florida, with near-continuous cooling for much of the year, coverage is good in practice. If your system cycles unusually little — a rarely-occupied property, for instance — that is worth mentioning before you choose, because it affects how much treatment you actually get.

Is this the right product for my situation?+

Sometimes it is not, and we would rather establish that first. If the real problem is high humidity, a dehumidifier addresses the cause. If it is growth on a damp coil, coil treatment targets it. If it is dust and pollen, better filtration is cheaper and sufficient. The REME HALO LED suits odours, VOCs, and whole-property air treatment — we will tell you which category you are actually in.
