Total Comfort-After Irma

Total Comfort has been back to work since Tuesday the 12th, however, conditions have had a definite impact on things.

Total Comfort relies heavily on the internet and phone communications. We had no internet service at our main office until Saturday morning and phone service was restored last Thursday. Dispatchers are operating from our smaller office in Holly Hill. Because of the disruption in services we have a tremendous backlog of various requests for service and are trying to get to them as quickly as possible. We appreciate the patience shown by our customers and want everyone to know that we are trying to take care of all calls in the most expeditious manner possible.

This picture of our dispatch area to the right doesn’t really show the water all over everything, the missing skylight, and the shingles that were strewn all over the room. The cause of all of this was the tornado that took out 1/2 of a gable roof end and several sheets of plywood and shingles. The roof of the propane dispensing station at 400 North U.S. 1 was removed by the storm that also knocked down a tree that destroyed the cargo container on one of our vehicles.

All in all, it’s been a rough week for us as well as our customers. We are behind because of the tremendous demand but we are trying very hard to catch up. As of this morning we have everyone back at 400 North U.S. 1 and we’re making progress. We do appreciate everyone’s patience and want everyone to know we are doing all we can to take care of our customers.

Preparing for Irma – September 5th

Since 7:30 this morning Total Comfort has been inundated with people seeking to fill their propane containers. The propane dispensing station is normally open till 4:30 P.M. everyday.  Starting today, September 5th, we are cutting off the line at 4:30 P.M. and shutting down totally at 5 P.M.  Anyone arriving after that will have to wait until the next day. We have several more days until Irma gets close to us and we have to make sure that our personnel will not be strained more than necessary in these early days of preparation.

If we change our operating hours we will post the new hours in this blog.

Although the demand appears to be at an all time high today, our prices remain the same and we are the best deal in town at $12.00 per 20# cylinder refill. We are hoping that prices from our distributor won’t go up so we can maintain a competitive edge but that can’t be guaranteed.  We just ask that when you come by for a re-fill please follow our directions,  be patient, polite, and careful.
