Programmable Thermostat Helps Save Money

Your summer cooling bills can account for more than half of the energy use in your home.  A good way to help mitigate those costs is to install and use a programmable thermostat.  By programming the thermostat to run at a higher temperature for times when the house is unoccupied or at night while you are sleeping you should be able to make a nice dent in those electric bills.

Total Comfort has programmable thermostats to fit your need, including several web enabled versions to help you control your system from outside the home via smart phone or computer.  Give us a call to inquire about a new thermostat as a stand-alone or as part of a new air conditioning system.

Arc-fault Protection

Arc-faults have various causes from natural wire degradation with age or humidity/heat to physical damage of wires from nails or furniture.  The result of an arc-fault could be a potentially disasterous fire.

To combat these effects, Leviton has developed the OBC AFCI Receptacles designed to replace existing outlets in your home.  By detecting hazardous arc-faults the receptacle responds by interrupting power, thus reducing the likelihood that the electrical system will be the source of fire in your home.

Total Comfort would be glad to assist you in the installation of these potentially lifesaving devices and give you one more layer of protection for your home.
